Over the last four years, our actions decreased bad actor account creation attempts from 6 million in 2020 to 2.5 million in 2021 and, finally, 700,000 in 2023.\n\nAmazon supports and lobbies for U.S. federal policies that make intellectual property violations crimes with meaningful penalties, and for law enforcement to have resources to appropriately prosecute these crimes. We also support a requirement that every package imported into the U.S. clearly identify the person or entity responsible for shipping the product.\n\n### Learn more about our commitment to stop counterfeiters\n\n![Multi-color shipping containers stacked in a freight yard](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/41d00a5/2147483647/strip/true/crop/2000x1333+0+0/resize/300x200!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2F37%2F15%2F5587d7484404b7ca88ad788ec554%2Fadobestock-81742641.jpeg)\n\n- [A blueprint for private and public sector partnership to stop counterfeiters](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/policy-news-views/a-blueprint-for-private-and-public-sector-partnership-to-stop-counterfeiters)\n\n![brand protection report](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/d849fc8/2147483647/strip/true/crop/1688x1125+156+0/resize/300x200!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2F4c%2Fde%2F85ff1bc54bd7a9ab89bdc9d84d52%2Faa-mar2025-rbrandprotection-standard-hero-v1-600kb-2000x1125-standard-hero-v1-600kb-2000x1125-1.jpg)\n\n- [How Amazon uses AI innovations to stop fraud and counterfeits](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/policy-new-views/amazon-brand-protection-report-2024-counterfeit-products)\n\n![Amazon smile logo in white on a squid ink background](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/6ac3740/2147483647/strip/true/crop/1688x1125+156+0/resize/300x200!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2F47%2F6d%2F7fe296e642859c7ba2a629eda3ba%2Famazon-logo-hero-images-2024.jpg)\n\n- [Amazon backs all products in its store with new A-to-z Guarantee](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/how-amazon-works/amazon-backs-all-products-in-its-store-with-new-a-to-z-guarantee)\n\n![The United States Capitol, against a bright blue sky with fluffy clouds.
