Here are 3 ways I’m using Amazon Q, a generative AI-powered assistant, to work more efficiently.](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/aws/amazon-q-generative-ai-aws-developer-coding-analytics)\n\nTwo new courses—Amazon Q Developer Getting Started and Generative BI with Amazon Q in Quicksight—were announced at the AWS Summit in Los Angeles as part of [Amazon’s “AI Ready” initiative](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/aws/aws-free-ai-skills-training-courses) to provide free AI skills training to 2 million people globally by 2025. AWS has launched a portfolio of free, self-paced courses on AWS Skill Builder, a digital learning center, to help the current and future workforce take advantage of Amazon Q.\n\n“Q is the world’s most capable generative AI assistant,” Matt Wood, AWS’s vice president of AI products, said at the summit. “It is a catalyst for the transformation within your organization. We've seen massive productivity gains.“\n\nWood explained that Q is the “easy button” for generative AI. It can help users complete a series of tasks, move more quickly, and be more agile. Essentially, it removes the heavy lifting of repetitive day-to-day tasks.\n\n“Q is a powerful way of delivering quick, relevant answers to your business questions,“ Wood said.\n\n## Free skills training to take advantage of Amazon Q\n\n![A photo of Amazon Q Developer Getting Started on a laptop computer.](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/0c63812/2147483647/strip/true/crop/1600x899+0+0/resize/767x431!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2F68%2Ff8%2F66960c8a481fa54f8c12bf4a0cbd%2Fq-developer.jpg)\n*Amazon Q Developer Getting Started*\n\nEach of the new free courses takes about an hour to complete.
