And once she was given the chance to come aboard, the *Orange Is the New Black* alum embraced the challenge.\n\n![The Boys: Diverse group of five people standing in industrial setting](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/cde38d1/2147483647/strip/true/crop/2532x1688+234+0/resize/300x200!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2Ffe%2F21%2Fd7ddfbaa4e63b4cf177f30b787a9%2Fthby-s5-00281-r1-3000.jpg)\n\n- [Meet the cast and characters of 'The Boys' Season 5, streaming now on Prime Video](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/entertainment/the-boys-season-4-cast-guide-prime-video)\n\n“I was hoping to see Black women represented in a new way on the show,” Heyward said. “I got the opportunity to step up and be it. The show is so great at gruesome and gregarious characters. The idea of having someone come in with the exact opposite energy, to be still and have that power of stillness, has been really, really fun to explore.”\n\n![Headshot of Jessie T. Usher’s character, A-Train, he said fans are loving the superhero’s redemptive arc. “It’s been a long time coming,” Usher revealed. “A-Train has been making bad decisions for a very long time. He’s been very selfish from the beginning. It’s nice to see him have a wake-up call and realize the position that he’s in.”\n\nBoth stars also touched on their characters’ shared past—and what this could mean for their future on *The Boys*.\n\n“They have a history,” noted Usher about A-Train and Sister Sage’s time together as teenage superheroes in the group Teenage Kix, “and they knew each other before they were in these extremely powerful positions. I think they may have even had something. Who knows? But think of it like this: We all know who we are now. But there are very few people who knew who we were 15 or 20 years ago. And for the first time, we’re meeting someone in A-Train’s life who isn’t related to him, who knew him before he was in The Seven. Before he was corrupt. Before he ever killed anyone.”\n\n![Tomer Capone (Frenchie), Jack Quaid (Hughie Campbell) and Karl Urban (Billy Butcher) in 'The Boys' on Prime Video](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/de38bb1/2147483647/strip/true/crop/2094x1396+243+0/resize/300x200!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2F0b%2Fb3%2F5062c8934e5e86cea0fd86c3f097%2Ftheboys-7wildestmoments-hero-v2.jpg)\n\n- [The 7 wildest moments from ‘The Boys’ on Prime Video, from whale guts to deadly sneezes](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/entertainment/the-boys-wildest-moments-episodes-prime-video)\n\nHeyward agreed and explained that the nonverbal moments between A-Train and Sister Sage create even more layers of tension and potential. “I feel like the writers have set up something we can really dig into this season and the next,” she said.\n\n*The Boys* Season 4 is [now streaming](https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/amzn1.dv.gti.d91773a8-c4d8-4e6a-8e9b-310c128c91de?autoplay=0&ref_=atv_cf_strg_wb), and the series has been [renewed for Season 5](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/entertainment/the-boys-renewed-season-5-prime-video).\n\n## *The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power*\n\n![Portrait of Cynthia Addai-Robinson, against blue backdrop](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/f863b29/2147483647/strip/true/crop/19414x10920+0+0/resize/767x431!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fassets.aboutamazon.com%2Ffc%2F9c%2F6ecd8aa24bb2b87f1dbf0364998a%2Fessence-2024-gl-01-240706-alskwa-00482-copy.JPG)\n\nCynthia Addai-Robinson, who stars as Queen-regent Miriel on *The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power*, said Season 1 was about setting the table and pulling in fans. “It provides a variety of characters and worlds depending on your taste,” she said. “Some people want a love story and some people want epic battle sequences.
