The event at Amazon's headquarters in Seattle featured games, a potluck banquet, and singing and dancing performances.\n\nVolunteers from the [Seattle Amazon Chinese League](https://www.amazon.com/p/feature/rqgncg737d8k94b) made the festivities possible. The group's founders came together in December 2015 and set out to strengthen the sense of community among Chinese employees at Amazon. They're succeeding. In the words of one appreciative participant in the New Year's gathering, \"Being alone abroad, I am very grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this with others. Looking forward to the next year!\"\n\nThe volunteers who organized the event are among the many employees who bring people together by participating in Amazon's Affinity Groups.\n\n![SMILE_Chinese_New_Year_2017_crowd.jpg](https://assets.aboutamazon.com/dims4/default/c07eab3/2147483647/strip/true/crop/1240x623+0+0/resize/767x385!/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fm.media-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FG%2F01%2FAnything%2Ftest%2Fimages%2Fblogphotos%2FSMILE_Chinese_New_Year_2017_crowd.jpg)\n\n*Revelers watch a performance during the Chinese New Year celebration at Amazon's headquarters in Seattle.*","publisher":{"@type":"Organization","name":"About Amazon","url":"https://www.aboutamazon.com","sameAs":["https://x.com/amazonnews","https://www.linkedin.com/company/amazon","https://www.instagram.com/amazonnews"],"logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","url":"https://assets.aboutamazon.com/bd/8f/88e7b0314cc2bd05b9de3155a0fe/amazon-news.svg"},"parentOrganization":{"@type":"Organization","name":"Amazon","url":"https://www.amazon.com","sameAs":["https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3884","https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_(company)","https://x.com/Amazon"]}}}
