# How to access the advice we shared with more than 300,000 job seekers on Amazon Career Day

*Amazon recruiters completed over 20,000 1-on-1 career coaching sessions with attendees in less than 24 hours. Their tips are now available online.*

Last week, over 300,000 people attended Amazon Career Day, a virtual event designed to help people – regardless of their level of experience, professional field, or background—get advice, insights, and information to help them find new opportunities either at Amazon or another company. In the week that followed the announcement of Career Day, a record-setting 384,000 people submitted applications on Amazon.jobs.

“It’s a difficult time for many job seekers who are dealing with the implications of COVID-19,” said Leah Fitzgerald, with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) talent acquisition team. “Recruiters at Amazon can receive hundreds of resumes for just one position. Given the current state of unemployment, companies of all sizes and industries are seeing an increase in job inquiries and applications.”

### For those who weren’t able to attend Career Day, here are a few of Fitzgerald’s tips for job seekers

- Keep your resume to two pages or fewer; use a personal website or LinkedIn profile to elaborate on your experience.
- If you don't have a LinkedIn profile, create one and use it to build your professional network.
- Add links in your resume to any pertinent portfolios, websites, or projects that showcase additional non-work related skills or interests.
- Don’t give up. Keep your skills sharp, keep learning, and keep networking.

The Amazon Career Day program included three hours of fireside chats, panels, and discussions with career experts and Amazon leaders, as well as interactive code review workshops and informational sessions dedicated to hourly opportunities at our fulfillment centers and physical stores.
