# Watch how Amazon is preparing for drone delivery

*Go behind the scenes as the Amazon drone delivery team develops a service to bring ultrafast delivery to customers.*

We have been working on building a drone delivery service since 2013. Our goal? Building fully electric drones that deliver packages under 5 pounds to customers in less than an hour.

Later this year, customers living in [Lockeford, California](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/transportation/amazon-prime-air-prepares-for-drone-deliveries) and [College Station, Texas](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/transportation/amazons-drone-delivery-is-coming-to-texas) will be among the first to receive Prime Air drone deliveries.
