Amazon Leo, formerly Project Kuiper, is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities beyond the reach of existing networks, and we began a full-scale deployment of our satellite constellation in April 2025.
Amazon Leo completed 11 missions and launched more than 300 satellites in its first year of launch operations, making it the third-largest constellation in orbit, and we plan to increase our launch rate over time with more than 100 launches secured to date.

April 30: Amazon Leo surpasses 300 satellites during dual-launch week across two continents
Arianespace successfully deployed 32 Amazon Leo satellites into low Earth orbit aboard Ariane 6 in its four-booster Ariane 64 configuration. Named LE-02 (Leo Europe 2), the mission brings the total number of satellites deployed to more than 300.
The launch follows an Atlas V mission earlier this week, marking two launches in one week across two continents and two launch vehicles as Amazon Leo continues scaling deployment of its constellation.

After separation, the Amazon Leo team assumed control of the satellites from our mission operations center in Redmond, Washington, where they complete initial health checks and prepare to raise satellites to their assigned operational orbit between 590 and 630 kilometers.
Arianespace’s next mission is another mission for Amazon Leo—Leo Europe 3 (LE-03)—and that mission will feature a higher-performance variant of Ariane 64 with upgraded P160C boosters, enabling more satellites to be deployed per launch. Additional details on LE-03 will be available closer to the mission.
