Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities beyond the reach of existing networks. Our initial satellite constellation will include more than 3,200 spacecraft, which we began deploying in April 2025 when we sent our first 27 satellites into space. That mission was the first of more than 80 to deploy our constellation.
Follow along here for updates on recent and upcoming Project Kuiper missions.

October 13: KF-03 mission sends another 24 satellites into orbit
SpaceX successfully deployed another batch of Kuiper satellites into orbit at 9:58pm EDT on Monday, Oct. 13. Named KF-03 for Amazon’s third launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, the mission sent another 24 satellites into orbit, bringing the total number of Kuiper spacecraft launched to date to 153 satellites.

Photo credit: SpaceXFalcon 9 deployed the satellites at an altitude of 289 miles (465 kilometers) above Earth, at which point the Kuiper team took over command of the mission from our mission operations center in Redmond, Washington. From there, we perform initial satellite health checks and prepare to raise the satellites to their assigned altitude of 392 miles (630 km), where they will be fully commissioned as part of our operational satellite constellation.
