"We've seen some of the commentary about a recent situation that occurred at one of our sites in North Carolina, and we understand how it might look when taken out of context. We immediately looked into the situation, and determined that there was no malicious intent. The site had chosen a beach theme to decorate for Prime Day as a way to celebrate employees' contributions during one of our busiest shopping holidays of the year. Those decorations were placed next to a Juneteenth display in the same breakroom area. And unrelated to both of those things, an employee brought in bananas as a treat for coworkers and placed them on the table near the two displays. We realize the juxtaposition of these visuals is concerning—especially without this context—and we sincerely apologize."
