Hundreds of Amazon employees joined with family and friends January 27 to celebrate Chinese New Year. The event at Amazon's headquarters in Seattle featured games, a potluck banquet, and singing and dancing performances.
Volunteers from the Seattle Amazon Chinese League made the festivities possible. The group's founders came together in December 2015 and set out to strengthen the sense of community among Chinese employees at Amazon. They're succeeding. In the words of one appreciative participant in the New Year's gathering, "Being alone abroad, I am very grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this with others. Looking forward to the next year!"
The volunteers who organized the event are among the many employees who bring people together by participating in Amazon's Affinity Groups.
