Swami Sivasubramanian, Vice President of Agentic AI, AWS
Dr. Swami Sivasubramanian is the Vice President of Agentic AI at Amazon Web Services (AWS). Swami leads AWS's agentic AI portfolio, overseeing the development of AI agents that can autonomously reason and take action to solve complex business problems. His team has launched numerous agentic capabilities including Amazon Quick Suite, Kiro, Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, AWS DevOps Agent, AWS Security Agent, and Amazon Transform.
Before focusing on agentic AI,, Swami led AWS's broader AI and machine learning portfolio, helping establish AWS as a leading destination for AI and ML workloads in the cloud. Since joining Amazon in 2005, Swami also helped build foundational AWS services including Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon RDS, and Amazon DynamoDB. His work has spanned databases, analytics, business intelligence (with Amazon QuickSight), data preparation (EMR, Glue), and data governance (Amazon DataZone). In September 2023, Swami joined the Amazon senior leadership team, or S-team.
Swami has been awarded more than 250 patents, authored 40 referred scientific papers and journals, and participates in several academic circles and conferences. He served as a member of the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee from May 2022 through May 2025, which was tasked with advising the President of the United States and the National AI Initiative Office on topics related to the National AI Initiative.
