Who we are
Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking.

Our Positions

We created this page to provide customers, investors, policymakers, employees, and others our views on certain issues. While our positions are carefully considered and deeply held, there is much room for healthy debate and differing opinions. We hope being clear about our positions is helpful.

Working at Amazon

We seek top talent from all industries and a range of backgrounds, from MBA graduates to veterans and military spouses, who join our offices around the world. People who succeed at Amazon have something in common—they are customer-centric, they are leaders and they are innovators.

Hiring the best talent

Amazon works to identify the best possible talent from all backgrounds. To develop future generations of talent, we are committed to holistic strategies that support K-12, higher education, and students who are underrepresented in the tech industry.

Select awards & recognition

Since day one we have strived to be the Earth’s most customer centric company, so we’re always excited to be recognized for the work we do on behalf of customers.

Building an inclusive culture

Amazon’s culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust.

Our workforce data

Representation matters. We track the representation of women and underrepresented racial/ethnic minorities because we know that diversity helps us build better teams that are obsessed over our global customer base.

Affinity groups

Amazon has 12 affinity groups, also known as employee resource groups, which bring Amazonians together across businesses and locations around the world. Some examples include the Black Employee Network (BEN), Amazon Women in Engineering (AWE), and Indigenous@.

Empowering diverse entrepreneurs

Through our technology, Amazon enables our sellers, creators, and builders from all backgrounds opportunities to follow their passion and find their best future.
