Interested in getting a Kindle or upgrading to one of the current models, but not sure which one is right for you? Below is a brief overview of our Kindle devices to help you make that decision.
Kindle Colorsoft
Kindle Colorsoft is everything readers love about Kindle, with all the beauty and imagination that color offers. You can browse covers in color in your Kindle Library or Store, see book photos and images in color, or add color highlights that you can easily search later.
With paper-like color and a high-contrast, glare-free display, Kindle Colorsoft also has warm light, waterproofing, 16 GB, and eight weeks of battery life.
Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition adds aluminum housing, 32 GB of storage, an auto-adjusting front light, double tap to turn pages, and comes in two colors: Graphite and Fig.
Kindle Colorsoft is available from $289.99.
Kindle
The all-new 6-inch Kindle is the most pocket-sized Kindle ever made—lighter, faster, and thinner than before. It features a flush-front display with edge-to-edge color, 16 GB of storage, up to 6 weeks of battery life, and 30% faster book opening than the previous release. The housing is made from recycled materials with a 100% recycled cobalt battery. Kindle is available starting at $149.99 in Ube and Graphite.
This 6-inch Kindle is also available for the first time with an aluminum back—same pocket-sized form factor, same flush-front display, but with a premium feel you notice the moment you pick it up. The housing is crafted from 80% recycled aluminum with a matte finish. Kindle in aluminum is available with 32 GB from $189.99 in two colors: Alpine Sky Aluminum and Seaglass Green Aluminum.
Kindle Scribe
Kindle Scribe combines all the benefits of Kindle with a powerful notetaking device. The display has white borders, and the screen has a smooth, paper-like texture that makes it look and feel like you’re writing on a sheet of paper.
The Premium Pen is finely crafted to deliver just the right heft and balance, so it feels like holding an actual pen, and the soft-tipped eraser feels like a pencil—you’ll think you have to brush the screen clean after erasing.
Kindle Scribe offers a first-of-its-kind in-book writing experience and a powerful notetaking experience. With Active Canvas, you can write your thoughts directly in the book when inspiration strikes. Your note becomes part of the page, and the book text dynamically flows around it—if you increase the font size, change the font style, or the book layout changes, the note remains visible exactly where you want it so you never lose any meaning or context.
The built-in AI-powered notebook lets you quickly summarize pages and pages of notes into concise bullets in a script font that can be easily shared directly from the notebook tab.
Kindle Scribe is available from $429.99.
Kindle Paperwhite
Since its debut in 2012, customers have made Kindle Paperwhite our best-selling Kindle. The display uses an oxide thin-film transistor, which gives the newest device the highest contrast ratio of any Kindle, so text and images pop off the screen.
The Signature Edition includes 32 GB of storage, wireless charging, and an auto-adjusting front light, and comes with aluminum housing in Graphite and Seaglass Green.
Kindle Paperwhite is available from $199.99; the Signature Edition is available from $249.99.
Kids Kindle
The new Kindle comes in a Kids version featuring kid-friendly covers designed by real artists, and 12 months of Amazon Kids+ included, giving access to thousands of books and audiobooks. When kids sit down with a Kindle, they read, on average, more than an hour a day—no notifications, no apps, no messaging. Just books.
Kids Kindle starts from $179.99.
