The cloud allows anyone to play console-quality games on devices they already own. And as more people seek flexibility and access to games at home and on the go, Luna, Amazon’s cloud gaming service, is going with them.
Luna offers a curated selection of games that you can play on the go, on the couch, or anywhere else you have an internet connection. Amazon Luna first launched in the U.S. in 2022, is now also available to customers in the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Curious about Amazon Luna? Here’s everything you need to know about the service.

How does Amazon Luna work?

Luna
As the name implies, cloud gaming works by streaming games from cloud servers, and Luna runs on Amazon’s powerful cloud computing platform Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS makes it easy to stream games without lengthy downloads or updates. It allows your device to run high-quality games without the need for an expensive gaming PC or console, a complicated setup, or heavy computer processing.

How much does Amazon Luna cost?

There are several ways that players can access Luna content, and the cost can vary. At no additional cost, Prime members have access to a library of more than 50 cloud-delivered games on Luna, along with a rotating selection of PC games that they can download each month. Outside of Prime membership, Luna supports individual game purchases, Luna Premium subscription, Jackbox Games subscription, and access to select Ubisoft titles via Ubisoft+.

What do I need to play Luna?

Luna
You can play Luna at home or on the go, wherever you have a stable internet connection. Amazon recommends an internet speed of at least a sustained 10Mbps for the best gaming experience. You can play Luna on iOS, Android, PC, Mac, and Fire tablets, Chromebook devices, and through web browser apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android phones. It is also available on Fire TV and, in the U.S., on select Samsung smart TVs.

How can I play Luna?

Anyone can play titles from Luna’s new GameNight library using their phones. To start playing, simply scan a QR code on your TV and your phone becomes your controller. With simple and responsive touchscreen inputs and support for several local players, GameNight offers an easy and approachable way to play together, with no gaming experience necessary.
You’ll need a controller or mouse and keyboard to play games outside of the GameNight library on Luna. While the Luna Controller works best, other controllers like the Xbox One Controller, DualShock 4 Controller, Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller, and standard mouse and keyboard are also compatible.
But Amazon optimized the Luna Controller for cloud gaming. It connects directly to the cloud server with cloud direct technology and a multiple-antenna design that prioritizes uninterrupted Wi-Fi for lower-latency gaming. Gamers can seamlessly switch between screens—such as moving from a Fire TV to a mobile phone—without additional pairing or configuration changes. The Luna Controller has an ergonomic design and feels comfortable in the hands, and is available for $69.99.
In addition to the U.S., the Luna Controller is also available in the UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Belgium and Luxembourg.

What kind of games can I play on Luna?

Luna offers a wide variety of games to choose from for different types of gamers. Whether it’s casual games, retro classics, indie games, or AAA titles—spanning genres like action, adventure, and family—there is always something interesting to play on Luna.
