Amazon in Nashville
Over the next 10 years, Tennessee, Davidson County, and the city of Nashville will benefit from $1 billion in new tax revenue as a result of Amazon’s investment and job creation.
Amazon in Nashville
We’re excited to work with Middle Tennesseans over the coming months and years to bring our new Operations Center of Excellence to downtown Nashville and create 5,000 jobs in the city. This is the single largest jobs commitment made by a company in Tennessee’s history, and we look forward to working with the community to make it a reality.

The construction of our new Center of Excellence, and the ongoing operation of it, will create thousands more jobs in building services, hospitality, and retail, and generate hundreds of millions of dollars in investment in the surrounding communities on top of Amazon’s $230 million direct investment.

Frequently asked questions
  • What is the Operations Center of Excellence and where will it be located in Nashville?
The new Operations Center of Excellence will serve as the eastern U.S. hub for our retail operations business, and will include tech and management teams working on customer fulfillment, customer service, transportation, and supply chain management. The Center will be located downtown at the future site of Nashville Yards.
  • What types of jobs will you hire for in Nashville?
These new jobs will include a mix of technical and non-technical roles for candidates at all skill and education levels. In addition to direct jobs at the Center, we expect our $230 million investment to create thousands more jobs in areas like construction, building services, hospitality and retail.
  • When will you start hiring? How many people do you plan to hire this year?
We’re excited to begin hiring for our Operations Center of Excellence later this year, and expect to hire several hundred people by the end of 2019.
  • Where will you house these employees?
Because Nashville Yards won’t be ready until 2020 at the earliest, employees will initially work in temporary workspace downtown.
  • What’s the salary range for these positions?
Amazon offers highly-competitive pay. At our new Operations Center of Excellence, there will be a range of jobs with a range of salaries – from administrative and corporate roles to software engineers.
  • What benefits does Amazon offer?
We offer comprehensive benefits that support employees and eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children. These include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k savings plan, paid time off, and company paid basic Life, Accidental Death, and short and long-term disability insurance. We also offer a range of fully paid maternity and parental leave options for parents prior to, during, and following the birth or adoption of their child. This includes our “Leave Share” program, which allows Amazonians to share their parental leave with their spouse if he or she is not eligible for paid parental leave at their place of work. All employees – whether they work in our fulfillment centers or they are senior executives – get the same benefits starting on day one of employment.
  • What percentage of roles will be for Tennesseans versus people who will relocate from other Amazon offices?
Nashville has a talented workforce and we are committed to hiring locally for jobs at all skill and education levels, but we also expect to relocate some of our existing businesses to Nashville.
  • What is Amazon doing to help people develop the skills they need for a job in Nashville?
We are committed to hiring locally for jobs at all skill levels. That means working with the community to learn about the workforce development needs and working together to figure out how to build a pipeline into jobs at Amazon. We’ll continue to listen and learn as we work on the specifics of this project.
  • Where can I find Amazon's agreements with the State of Tennessee?
