More than 2.1 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water and by 2030, the world faces an expected 40% global freshwater shortfall. These numbers represent women who walk hours for water, children who miss school, and communities held back from better economic opportunities.
That's why we joined Gap, Starbucks, and Ecolab as a founding partner of Get Blue, a multi-brand coalition created with Water.org, a nonprofit co-founded by Gary White and Matt Damon.
Get Blue is raising both funding and awareness for the global water crisis–and making it easy to get involved. To date, Water.org has reached 92 million people with lasting access to safe water or sanitation. The Get Blue campaign will help extend that reach as part of a broader portfolio of strategies working toward Water.org's ambitious goal of reaching 200 million people by 2030 through sustained investment in solutions that expand access to safe water.
Since 2020, Amazon has supported access to safe water or sanitation for more than 1.25 million people through Water.org's solution. And now, through Get Blue, our customers can join that effort.

How can I donate to Water.org through Alexa+?

One of the simplest ways to help is with Alexa+. Customers can say "Alexa, donate to Get Blue" on their Echo family devices, alexa.amazon.com, or the Alexa app, and Amazon will contribute $5 to Water.org. There’s no cost to the customer, and each customer can trigger one Amazon-funded donation. Customers who wish to give more can do so at Water.org.
Why $5? Every $5 provides one person with lasting safe water access for more than 20 years.

Stream It Forward artists include The All-American Rejects, The Beach Boys, Cody Simpson, Dierks Bentley, Diplo, Dylan Gossett, Jon Pardi, Josh Groban, Kami Kehoe, Lainey Wilson, Major Lazer, Ne-Yo, Parker McCollum, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Sebastian Yatra, Walk Off the Earth, The War and Treaty, and Warren Zeiders. The playlists feature a special Get Blue design and can be found on the Amazon Music homepage. You don’t need a paid subscription to participate; just open Amazon Music and hit play.
This turns something you already do into impact. Your commute playlist, your workout mix, your work-from-home background music—all of it can help give safe water access to families that need it.

How can you shop on the Get Blue storefront to help fund safe water access?

A dedicated Get Blue storefront on Amazon brings together exclusive items, including Gap's limited-edition Get Blue collection, blue vinyl records from participating artists, and special product selections from brands such as E.l.f., Hydro Flask, and Olive and June. The storefront is designed to be a single destination where customers can discover products, learn about the water crisis, and take action.

What is Water.org?

Water.org is a global nonprofit that is working to break down the barriers between people and access to safe water and sanitation. Amazon has partnered with Water.org since the earliest days of developing our water stewardship strategy. In 2022, Amazon made a catalytic donation to Water.org to help WaterEquity launch its Water and Climate Resilience Fund, an investment vehicle focused on climate resilient infrastructure in emerging markets.
Water.org works with local financial institutions to extend affordable loans to families so they can access water and sanitation infrastructure in their communities. Water.org provides loans because traditional charity alone wasn't solving the global water crisis.
Many people living in poverty already pay exorbitant prices to water vendors or spend hours collecting it. Providing small, affordable loans allows these families to finance and own long-term taps or toilets immediately. When a family repays their loan, and 98% do, that money can be loaned to the next family, and the next.

What is Get Blue?

Get Blue is a global movement that brings together brands, creators, and consumers to help solve the water crisis. The initiative launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2026 with Amazon, Gap, Starbucks, and Ecolab as founding partners. Additional partners include AccuWeather, Ripple, and TikTok.
As more brands, artists, and creators join Get Blue, the collective impact scales, bringing Water.org closer to its goal of reaching 200 million people with safe water access by 2030.
