Madden is directed by David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle) from a script he wrote following an earlier version by Cambron Clark.
Todd Black is producing through his Escape Artists banner, along with partners Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch. Jonathan Shukat also produces alongside Russell and Matthew Budman. Escape Artists' David Bloomfield is executive producer.
Who is John Madden?
Madden was one of the most recognizable figures in American football history. As head coach of the Raiders from 1969 to 1978, he compiled a career winning percentage of .759—the highest among coaches with more than 100 career victories—and led the team to victory in Super Bowl XI.
After retiring from coaching, Madden became one of the most beloved broadcasters in NFL history, working for all four major networks over a three-decade career.
